Leather is part of Loro Piana’s expansion plans

In recent comments to the Financial Times, the brand’s chief executive, Fabio d’Angelantonio is aiming to attract more attention to the breadth of its range. It has long been most famous for coats and knitwear, but Mr d’Angelantonio insisted it is “a brand for all seasons”.
To make this more obvious to consumers, Loro Piana is expanding its collections, to emphasise that it offers lighter-weight clothing too, including linen trousers and dresses.
Using natural materials is of great importance to Loro Piana, which has been 80% owned by luxury group LVMH since 2016. Long before that, the brand became involved in conservation initiatives such as a support programme for small-scale livestock farmers in Peru from whom it sourced vicuña fibres.
As part of this commitment to favouring high-quality natural materials, the brand will increase its leathergoods offering as part of its expansion plan. It told the FT that its footwear collections are also doing well.
