Delvaux has called the “highly supple shape and oversized design” that Mr Colonna has come up with as “a bold interpretation of the Brillant”, a style of bag the brand introduced in 1958.
It is made from leather called Dream, of which Delvaux, the oldest leathergoods brand in the world, says it has exclusive use. It describes the leather as “extremely soft and sensuous, [with] a velvety feel that gives the bag its exceptionally supple shape”.
Because Dream is made from high-quality raw material, Devlaux says “it ages beautifully, taking on a characterful patina over time”.
The bag is available in black and a rich tan colour and the Belgian company has said it hopes to sell it to men as well as women. “It adheres to no rules or conventions,” the company said.
