Alcanena to host Expopele event in April

Portuguese leather manufacturing town Alcanena will host an event called Expopele by PT Leather InDesign on April 11-12. The town authorities, national tanning industry body APIC, technical research centre CTIC and local business association ACIS are joint-organisers.

PT Leather InDesign is a project that has been running in Portugal for the last two years. Its aim has been to encourage the country’s tanners to develop innovative leather collections. It will come to a conclusion at the April event, which will have catwalk presentations of the products that have emerged from this work.

Expopele will also include a discussion on trends and conference sessions on subjects including the image of leather, what the tanning industry is likely to look like in 2030, and leather as part of the circular economy.
