Packer and tanning group JBS, the largest leather manufacturer in the world, has announced full-year revenues of $49.7 billion for 2018, an increase of 11.3% compared to the amount for 2017.

Adjusted pre-tax earnings on the 2018 revenues were just over $4 billion, an increase year on year of 10.7%.

The group now reports the results of its leather division, JBS Couros, as part of JBS Brasil, although without issuing specific figures for its leather manufacturing activities. In 2018, JBS Brasil registered revenues of more than $7.5 billion, up by 17.1% (in local currency) compared to the figure for 2017. JBS Brasil was also much more profitable in 2018, with adjusted pre-tax earnings of more than $340 million for the year, compared to just $10.5 million last year.
