25/03/2019
Professor Ferdinand Dudenhöffer, who runs the University of Duisburg-Essen’s Centre for Automotive Research (CAR), will host the fifth CAR-Symposium in China, with Shanghai as the venue this year.

China’s biggest motor shows alternate between Beijing and Shanghai; the biggest this year will be the 2019 Auto Shanghai event, running from April 19-28.

CAR-Symposium in China will take place in the immediate build-up to the event, starting with a welcome dinner on April 16, followed by the main conference on April 17.

BMW sales director, Pieter Nota, will be the guest speaker at the opening dinner and will talk, in particular, about BMW in the Chinese market and the group’s e-mobility strategy for China.

The theme of e-mobility will continue into the main conference the next day, with its potential impact on automotive interiors one of the areas of discussion.

Other speakers will include Porsche chairman, Oliver Blume, senior vice-president at Great Wall Motor Company, Zhao Guoqing, and deputy chairman of mobile technology provider Huawei, Eric Xu.
