Leather shoe manufacturers produced just over 3.6 billion pairs, which yielded sales revenues of $60 billion. These figures mean a decrease in volume year on year of 1% but an increase in value of 5.1%.

Exports of footwear of all types declined by 1% in volume, with a total of 9.5 billion pairs shipped overseas. In terms of value, these exports brought in almost $45 billion, a decline of 2.5% compared to 2017.

For leather shoes, export totals in 2018 were 679 million pairs, bringing in export revenues of $9.3 billion. These figures are almost flat compared to those for 2017, with a small decrease in volume and an even smaller increase in value.
