Quaker Color secures ISO 14001 certification

11/03/2019
Specialist supplier of leather finishing chemicals to automotive tanners Quaker Color completed the audit process for the ISO 14001 standard for environmental management in February and has now received certification. This will sit alongside ISO9001 certification for quality management that the Pennsylvania-based company has held since 2003.

Sales director, Shawn Brown, has told World Leather that Quaker Color received no specific push from any of its customers or from any of the automotive original equipment manufacturers that those tanners serve to attain ISO 14001 certification. However, he said he could see this becoming a requirement in the future.

He added that Quaker Color’s decision was to go through the audit process and secure certification under this standard as a result of its own conscious decision to do so, rather than being required to do so by others.
