Italian tanning machinery manufacturers’ association Assomac has said more than 5,500 visitors attended Simac and Tanning Tech in Milan in February. It said this turnout matched the record levels of visitors to the events in February 2018.

There were 322 exhibitors in total at the two shows, Simac for footwear machinery and Tanning Tech for leather manufacturing technology.

Assomac quoted a footwear entrepreneur from China, who said: “We have realised that the way to remain competitive, partly in response to rising costs, is to adopt ever better performing production systems. And we can only find the most innovative solutions here in Milan, at Simac Tanning Tech.”
