Indonesia trade deal promises Australia beef boost

Australia and Indonesia signed an economic partnership agreement on March 4.

As part of the agreement, Australia will remove all tariffs on imports from Indonesia, with textiles and apparel, as well as athletic footwear, likely to be among the products most likely to be affected.

But in the other direction, beef exports from Australia are also likely to benefit. In 2018, Australia’s beef exports to Indonesia were worth an estimated $550 million.
