Maitan wildlife bags catch the eye at Tanning Tech

Long-time managing director of Gemata, and well known throughout the industry for his wildlife photography, Mr Maitan launched GMVenezia last year, digitally printing his images of zebras, gorillas, lions, leopards, hippopotamus and other animals onto cut pieces of leather and working with local artisans in Veneto to assemble finished products.
“I’m still only just getting this idea off the ground,” Mr Maitan told World Leather at the event, “but it’s been very enjoyable. This is something I had thought about doing for a long time.” He said one bag featuring a lion’s face and one showing a gorilla are his favourites so far.
