Following the announcement that Catherine Ann Maidment from New Zealand and Shahruk Nur-A-Tomal from Bangladesh are the recipients of the 2019 young leather scientist grants, the International Union of Leather Technologists and Chemists Societies (IULTCS) has said a third grant in the programme is still available.

Italian tanning technology provider Erretre is the sponsor of the third award, offering €1,000 to one young scientist for research on machinery and equipment for use in leather manufacturing.  The deadline for this third award has been extended to May 31, 2019.

In recent comments on Erretre’s support of the programme, its head of special projects and research and development, Adriano Peruzzi, said: “Our company supports leather education and we strongly believe our sector needs young motivated people to implement innovation and face all new challenges.”
