Don Ohsman joined his family’s hide trading business in Iowa in the 1960s and worked there until 1979, when he left to set up his own business, Trans World Hide Corporation. It was also around this time that he began writing the reports on the availability and price of hides that later became the product with which most people in the industry today associate him, Hidenet.
In 1997, automotive leather manufacturer Seton took over Trans World Hide Corporation. Some time after this, Don Ohsman left to focus full time on Hidenet.
