Burberry hopes to build on ‘new creative vision’

Luxury leathergoods brand Burberry achieved sales of £711 million in the third quarter of its current financial year, the 13 weeks to December 29. This represents a fall of 1% compared to the same quarter a year earlier.

“I am pleased with our progress in the quarter as we continued to build brand heat around our new creative vision and shift consumer perception of Burberry,” said chief executive, Marco Gobbetti. “Excitement is growing ahead of next month’s launch of the debut collection of Riccardo Tisci [who took over as creative director in March 2018]. We will continue to manage the business dynamically as we reposition the brand.”
