Germany’s 2018 car sales match “exceptionally high level” of previous year

Original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) sold 3.4 million new passenger vehicles last year, the same as in 2017.
On announcing the figures, VDA president, Bernhard Mattes, said matching 2017’s “exceptionally high level” of sales in 2018 was “remarkable”, considering the fact that the previous year’s figure was the highest this decade.
He pointed out that sales of electric vehicles increased by 24% compared to the previous year, reaching 65,000.
