Assocalzaturifici will not budge on labels or origin

Afterwards, Assocalzaturifici president, Annarita Pilotti, said: “We have been fighting for more than ten years to bring to the EU’s attention the need for a law that protects manufacturing excellence and the right of EU consumers to know what they are buying.”
Assocalzaturifici has spoken of a “culture clash” in Europe over this issue, but has said it will not change its position. Across all sectors, manufacturers in Italy contribute €140 billion per year to the country’s economy and employ 900,000 people.
