Footwear group Stella International has appointed a new chief executive, Chi Lo-Jen. Mr Chi will take over the role from Lawrence Chen on January 1. Lawrence Chen will continue to serve as an executive director and a member of the executive committee.

Chi Lo-Jen’s is an internal appointment. He joined Stella International in 1995 and, therefore, has  23 years’ experience in the footwear industry. In his most recent post, he has had responsibility for the daily operations and business development of the group’s fashion footwear and branding divisions.

Mr Chi has been instrumental in “expanding the high-fashion customer base for the group”, Stella said on making the announcement. It was he who took the lead in developing the group’s fashion athletic footwear business, now a main growth driver.
