Chanel turns its back on exotic leather

04/12/2018
French luxury brand Chanel has announced it will stop using exotic skins, such as those from crocodiles, lizards, snakes, sharks and stringrays, in its products.

The reason the fashion house gave for this decision was that it is becoming “increasingly difficult to source exotic skins which match our ethical standards”.

It added that it “continually reviews” its supply chains in order to ensure that they meet the company’s “expectations of integrity and traceability”.
