Amedeo Testoni set his first workshop up in Bologna in the 1929 and set about creating “the most beautiful shoes in the world”. His company went on to develop its own patented shoe construction technique, Piuma Rapid, in which a series of processes are carried out entirely by hand to make “a feather-light shoe that insulates the foot from heat, cold and humidity”. It also combined local artisan traditions and Goodyear welting to create the Goodyear Bolognese method.
Sitoy will pay “an initial consideration” of €14.5 million.
