UK prime minister, Theresa May, visited the Bridge of Weir tannery in Renfrewshire on November 28.

Mrs May said that she wanted to visit employers and workers in different parts of the United Kingdom to discuss an agreement she has reached with the European Union for the UK to leave. European Union leaders approved the agreement on November 25.

Speaking at the tannery, Mrs May said: “The deal we have negotiated with the European Union is the best deal available for jobs and the economy. The free-trade area that lies at the heart of our future economic partnership with the European Union is crucial for employers here in Scotland, like Bridge of Weir.”
