Lanxess releases details of leather seminar programme

The leather chemical company’s vice-president for leather industry relations, Dr Dietrich Tegtmeyer, has confirmed a number of speakers, while saying other interesting additions to the agenda are still being confirmed.
Already confirmed are talks on the latest regulatory requirements from Lanxess’s Dr Martin Kleban, and on odour and VOC in automotive leather from his colleague Dr Volker Rabe. Primiano de Rosa, environmental project manager at Italian tanning industry association UNIC, will speak about chrome and alternatives for leather manufacturing.
The Zero Discharge of Hazardous Chemicals (ZDHC) group, which campaigns for hazardous substances to be eliminated from waste streams in the fashion supply chain, will also be represented on the speaker list; Alessa Tortorra will talk about a new leather wastewater pilot for tanneries.
Dr Tegtmeyer will speak himself, giving an overview of image-improving initiatives in the leather industry.
