Burberry “energised” by first-half results

08/11/2018
Luxury brand Burberry has reported revenues of just over £1.2 billion for the first half of its current financial year, the six months to September 29, 2018.

This represents a decline of 3% compared to the figure for the same period last year. However, the figure the company has given for its operating profit for the first half of the current year, £173 million, represents an increase of 36% year on year.

On releasing the figures, chief executive, Marco Gobbetti, said: “We are energised by the early results as we begin to transform and reposition Burberry. Mindful that we are only in the first phase of our multi-year plan, we continue to manage dynamically through the transition.”
