Peruvian leather and footwear research institute Citeccal is to embark on a new project with footwear manufacturers in neighbouring Bolivia.

A delegation from Bolivian industry association Aprocalvie recently spent time in Peru examining ways in which Citeccal can help its 250 members update their businesses.

Aprocalvie represents mostly small and micro-businesses in and around the city of El Alto, near La Paz. Reports from Peru have said the delegation from Aprocalvie formed a positive impression of work Citeccal has already done to help footwear manufacturers in Arequipa innovate and want the research institution to provide similar assistance in El Alto.
