Leather manufacturer values visit to High Point
12/10/2018
High Point Market’s focus is on finished furniture products, while High Point’s other exhibition, Showtime (which takes place at different times of year) is for material suppliers to show their collections to furniture manufacturers.
Nevertheless, Gobba values its visits to the finished product event because this allows its commercial team to see close up how its leather articles are performing in the sofas and armchairs its customers put on display for the occasion.
Sales supervisor, André Peteffi, said in the build-up to the trip that he and his colleagues would have the opportunity to see the results of Gobba’s production in the first half of 2018, and of a just-in-time cutting-and-sewing project it has set up at its facility in Nova Esperança, in Rio Grande do Sul.
Gobba’s claim is that this project allows it to deliver in less than a week upholstery pieces in the size and colour its global customers require, meaning it can offer what it calls “customisation, consistency and high quality”.
An extra benefit of travelling to North Carolina for High Point Market is that the Globba team to gather information about forthcoming trends; it says this is the beginning of its process for creating its new collections.
