Important business award for Smit & zoon

On October 2, the company picked up the 2018 Family Business Legacy Award in a competition called Entrepreneur of the Year, run by consultancy EY in the Netherlands.
On receiving the award, the company’s owner, Marc Smit, said: “I find it very special to be able to receive this award, considering this is a prize that gives appreciation to all that we have accomplished over the past 197 years. It also gives us a great incentive to continue with what we have worked on for so long: giving this company a very bright future by focusing on making the leather industry more sustainable. We are really going to make a difference, I am convinced of that.”
