October High Point Market to go ahead as planned after hurricane

The chief executive of the High Point Market furniture exhibition in North Carolina, Tom Conley, has issued a statement following the damage caused to many communities in that part of the US by Hurricane Florence in mid-September.

Mr Conley said he and his team had received many messages of concern and support, for which he was grateful. He said the town of High Point has suffered no lasting effects from the storm.

He added that, although “many of our friends and neighbours still have a long road ahead of them in terms of recovery for their homes and businesses”, the next event on the event’s calendar, High Point Market, will go ahead as planned, starting on October 13.
