Downturn in Brazilian leather exports in August

The Brazilian leather industry exported material worth $116 million in the month of August 2018, a reduction of 31.3% compared to the same month in 2017.

In terms of volume, Brazil’s tanners shipped 14.6 million square-metres of finished leather, crust, wet blue and salted hides in the month of August this year. This represents a reduction of 17.1% compared to the same month last year.
