COTANCE names date of closing healthy workplace safety

October 9 is the date the representative body of the European leather industry, COTANCE, and trade union organisation industriAll have chosen for a conference in Brussels that will bring to its conclusion a project that promotes a healthy work environment in tanneries.

There will be sessions on a number of topics, including the ongoing use of an Online interactive Risk Assessment (OiRA) tool that COTANCE and industriAll developed in 2010 and made free to access for all interested parties in 2013.

Professor Richard Hazenberg of the University of Northampton will present the results of a survey on workplace safety in European tanneries that the university hosted.
