German Leather Museum charts the history of the bag

The German Leather Museum in Offenbach has launched an exhibition that explores the history of the bag, from its use in prehistoric times as a way to transport food to its role in modern society, where the luxury handbag is now an important fashion statement.

During the exhibition, which runs until February 2019, the museum will display some of the more than 500 bags it has in its collection.

As well as viewing these products, visitors also have the opportunity to take part in a leather crafting workshop, during which they can learn how to make small bags, mobile phone cases and other leather products using templates.
