Optimistic mood as Vietnam event opens

Organisers said 700 exhibitors from 20 different countries had travelled Vietnam for the event and that they were expecting around 10,000 visitors across the three days of the fair.
They said spirits are high in the Vietnamese leather industry, with total exports in 2017 of $18 billion, a 12% increase compared to the figure for 2016. Exports of leather shoes contributed $16.4 billion to the total.
In the first five months of 2018, companies in the leather sector achieved export revenues of $6.2 billion, which represents further growth of more than 10%.
