Uruguay: leather firms encouraged to apply for industrial fund share

06/07/2018
Uruguay’s industry ministry has given business until July 31 to apply for grants of $80,000 from a special industrial fund it has set up.

Companies in the leather, footwear and automotive sectors are among those eligible to apply. Interested parties must put together a project plan to say what they would use the money for.

The ministry has said it wants to use the fund to create greater diversity in Uruguay’s industrial sector, but it said it also wanted the money to encourage development in established industries, including leather.
