The new issue of World Leather is now available
The June/July 2018 issue of World Leather is now available online. The full e-zine can be accessed here.

This issue features our first special supplement section of the year. It focuses on the furniture market and includes comment from leather groups Moore & Giles, Cortina Leather, Boxmark and JBS Couros. We also hear from the Sustainable Furnishing Council about why furniture companies see leather in a favourable light.

In the magazine’s technical section, we take a look at why the Arzignano tanning cluster in Italy could be seen as the leather industry equivalent to California’s tech-focused Silicon Valley district.

Our special technical theme for this issue is dedicated to the difficult relationship between leather and synthetic alternatives. It includes an examination of the different views within the leather industry about if and how these competing materials can co-exist. There is also an article which explores whether the tide is turning against plastics and we hear from a start-up footwear brand about why it chose to use chrome-free leather in its products.

The Beast to Beauty feature focuses on French furniture maker Duvivier Canapés and how its relationship with Lectra has helped it to significantly boost its production capacity.
