Mr Razak held office between 2009 and May 2018, when he lost a general election in the midst of corruption allegations relating to state investment firm 1Malaysia Development Berhad. Mr Razak has consistently denied any wrongdoing.
CCID raided the properties after the general election but only made details of the haul public at the end of June. The department said the items it had seized included 567 luxury handbags from 37 different brands.
It said it had been unable to calculate the total value of the handbags, but revealed that 272 of them were from Hermès and that just this component of the collection had an estimated value of $12.7 million
