27/06/2018
With a year to go before the XXXV IULTCS International Congress takes place in Dresden (June 25-28, 2019), the pace of the preparations is picking up. IULTCS president, Thomas Yu, and the president of host organisation VGCT, Martin Heise, have announced that Dr Michael Meyer of FILK will be the head of the event’s scientific committee.

Dr Meyer, who is the research director of Freiberg-based FILK, will take responsibility for the scientific programme of the 2019 congress.

In total, 22 leather science and technology experts will sit on the committee, representing almost all corners of the world and including several past presidents of IULTCS. The committee will draw up criteria and conditions for paper submission and evaluation for the congress, the theme for which will be ‘Benign by Design’. A call for papers should go out in September. Organisers expect 250 papers to be filed.
