Leather promotion initiative pays off for Quindío
25/06/2018
In the first three months of 2017, export revenues from leather were just over $30,000. The corresponding figure for the same period in 2018 was more than $800,000.
Head of industry policy for the provincial government, Juan David Pachón Morales, said a public-private partnership initiative called ‘A Competitive Route For Leather’ has paid off. He said this had helped Quindío’s leather manufacturers increase the quality of their products and that this improvement in quality was what had driven the increase in export earnings.
