A key component of ADC’s strategy is to invite leather-sector experts to share knowledge and experiences with start-ups and Sophie Vuit Coster, a consultant who helps to run ADC, has said this has been important for ADC’s success.
In recent comments at the 2018 UITIC Congress, Ms Viot Coster said 25 of ADC’s 43 active brands are manufacturing products in France and 11 of them run their own ateliers. She explained that the programme is responsible for 145 direct jobs and 45 indirect ones in France, plus 42 jobs elsewhere in Europe, meaning ADC has so far created a total of 232 jobs.
“The sector has provided very important mentoring to brands in the incubator and now our ADC brands are ready to give something back,” she said. “Some are now in a position to offer some reverse-mentoring to more established companies in the leather industry.”
