Industry figures, including representatives of the leather industry, gathered in Ho Chi Minh City on May 11 to discuss business links between Vietnam and the Middle East. More than 150 delegates took part.

Vietnam’s industry and commerce ministry said trade between the country and Middle Eastern partners has grown substantially in recent years to reach $12 billion in 2017, with $9 billion in exports from Vietnam and $3 billion in imports. It said footwear and leather are among the products that have an important market opportunity in the Middle East.
