Leathersellers’ Hall in the City of London hosted an exhibition called ‘Leather – Then and Now’ from May 9-12 as part of a wider programme called London Craft Week.

Prominent designer and famous champion of leather Bill Amberg curated the exhibition. He set out to pair “historically important pieces” from the UK’s national leather collection with products Mr Amberg regards as their contemporary equivalents.

The designer said he felt this was a good way to reflect on the enduring qualities of “this remarkable material”. The exhibition was open to the public, with free entry.

Bill Amberg worked with architect Eric Parry on the refurbishment of the Leathersellers’ Hall and created a series of interior design features for the project. London’s Worshipful Company of Leathersellers formally reopened the building in 2016.
