APLF director recalls Roobik Khodabakhshian

27/03/2018
Director of the APLF exhibition, Michael Duck, has paid tribute to World Leather’s former sales representative in Iran, Roobik Khodabakhshian, whose death we announced in February.

Mr Duck said he had been very sad to hear the news and explained that Mr Khodabakhshian had also been an agent for APLF at one time, but that the arrangement had been interrupted by trade sanctions against Iran.

He said he agreed completely with comments from industry colleagues that Roobik Khodabakhshian was dedicated to hard work and a man of “huge integrity and generosity”.

He added: “Who could forget this happy, smiling [short!] Armenian Iranian, greeting you with a bag of excellent pistachios firmly in hand? You would never know about all the problems he encountered trading with Iran. He never complained and only looked for solutions for a safe and peaceful world. Our deep condolences go out to his wife and family. Rest in peace dear friend.”
