UK leather industry hosts Hong Kong event

The UK Leather Federation and the Worshipful Company of Leathersellers hosted a reception for representatives of leather industry at the UK Consulate-General in Hong Kong on March 15. Guests from Germany, France, the US, Spain and other countries joined their UK colleagues at the event.

Master of the Leathersellers’ Company, Antony Barrow, told guests he appreciated his visit to Hong Kong for the APLF exhibition (March 14-16) and for the 2018 Tannery of the Year Gala Final on March 14, which he described as a “really impressive occasion”.

“The Leathersellers’ Company is very happy to continue to support industry initiatives,” the Master said, citing its support for new teaching and research facilities at the University of Northampton’s Institute for Creative Leather Technologies.

James Lang, chairman of the UK Leather Federation, told guests the organisation was in good health and that, for the first time in a number of years, its membership increased in 2017.
