Best of APLF Award makes ideal birthday present for Equitan

Italian tanning machinery and automation specialist Equitan won one of the Best of APLF Awards at the 2018 exhibition. It picked up an innovation prize for a new staking belt concept called Biconic.

Founder Antonio Antoniazzi received a patent for Biconic in February. It uses two cylinders to stretch the belt in such a way as to push any wrinkles in a hide towards the extremities, offering tanners wrinkle-free hides after staking.

Mr Antoniazzi said he was delighted by the announcement on March 15 and pointed out that it made a perfect birthday present for Equitan, which was founded exactly 20 years ago. The company opened for business on March 16, 1998.
