Fimec 2018 gets under way
06/03/2018
A series of activities organised and supported by Brazil’s main tanning industry body (CICB) will feature on the programme at Fimec, including activities to promote and support the Brazilian Leather Project, an initiative that CICB runs with the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (Apex-Brazil) to encourage leather exports.
Business roundtables, hosting overseas buyers’ groups and various learning opportunities will be part of the agenda. “CICB’s participation at Fimec 2018 will be intense,” said executive president, José Fernando Bello. “This is a fair with a broad scope, where it’s possible to find new business and reinforce contacts with established customers and suppliers.”
International buyers attending Fimec will include groups from Russia and Uzbekistan. These buyers, who represent important footwear, furniture and automotive groups in their home countries, will follow a schedule of technical visits and business roundtables with Brazilian tanneries.
Visitors to Fimec will also be able to visit a model tannery that consultancy and training body Senai has set up using up-to-date tanning machinery at its headquarters in nearby Estância Velha.
