ICT meeting to take place in Hong Kong

As usual, the opening session will be for ICT delegates only. It will begin at 09.00 with a formal welcome and review of activities from 2016-2018 from the current president, Richard Pai. The election of a new president and vice-president for the period 2018-2020 will follow.
At 10.45 there will be a second session, which will be open to non-delegates. There will be four presentations during this session, with leatherbiz columnist David Peters among the speakers. He will talk about the balance between hide supply and demand and give an outline of what he thinks lies ahead. Dr Dietrich Tegtmeyer, past president of the International Union of Leather Technologists’ and Chemists’ Societies (IULTCS) will also speak, with the final deadline for REACH and the implications of the legislation for leather chemicals as his subject.
Two further presentations will come from Vitaliy Selivanov from the Russian Tanning and Shoe Union, and from Sardor Umurzakov and Shah Abdurashid, who will offer an introduction to the leather industry in Uzbekistan.
