JBS celebrates Farm Animal Welfare ranking

27/02/2018
Brazilian packer and tanning group JBS has been ranked as one of the world’s best companies in animal welfare practices by a report called the Business Benchmark on Farm Animal Welfare (BBFAW).

Two international campaign groups, World Animal Protection and Compassion in World Farming, produce BBFAW; this year’s edition is the sixth they have produced.

Sustainability director, Marcio Nappo, said: “We are proud that the BBFAW has recognised the work we have been doing for the past several years. This has transformed JBS into an industry leader and underlines the company’s ongoing advances in animal wellbeing. Best practices in animal wellbeing are one of the pillars of our success. JBS takes a very rigorous approach to this issue and continues to invest to improve.”
