TFL’s top man in Japan to embark on exciting Ethiopia project

Managing director in Japan of leather chemicals manufacturer TFL, Yasuhisa Nakamura, will give expert input to a new development project in Ethiopia, starting in March. He will combine this work with his role at TFL.

Japan’s International Cooperation Agency will run a new project with Ethiopia’s ministry of trade to improve the quality of leather the African country’s tanners are making from native sheepskins, leading to better-quality finished products that will help Ethiopia boost its leather-sector exports.

Mr Nakamura will provide expert help in areas such as quality improvement and brand management. He will make his first visit in March to tanneries selected by the ministry of trade to take part in the project.

TFL said it was proud that its managing director in Japan had been asked to take part in a project that will further develop the tanning industry in Ethiopia and wished the project great success.
