Senior executives from two leathergoods brands join Modern Meadow

Collagen biofabrication start-up Modern Meadow has announced Bridget Russo as its new chief marketing officer. Ms Russo will join from Detroit-based bag brand Shinola.

In addition, Modern Meadow has said former Michael Kors executive Anna Bakst will join its board of directors.

Modern Meadow hired 40 new members of staff in 2017, bringing its total to 72 full-time employees. To accommodate continued growth, it relocated company headquarters from New York to Nutley, New Jersey.

“Bridget and Anna bring decades of experience building brands that stand for sustainability, quality and innovation,” said chief executive, Andras Forgacs, on announcing the appointments. “They are invaluable additions to the leadership of Modern Meadow and will be integral as we bring our materials to market in the coming years.”
