Growth in volume and value for Brazilian beef exports in 2017

Brazil’s total beef exports in 2017 increased by 10% in volume and by 14% in value compared to the figures for 2016.

New figures from the industry and overseas trade ministry show that Brazilian packers exported more than 1.4 million tonnes of beef in 2017, bringing in revenues of just over $6 billion.

Beef industry commentators have predicted further growth in 2018, suggesting that figures for this year may go close in volume to the record, 1.56 million tonnes, established in 2014.
