Polymer bead-based tanning technology provider Xeros has said it aims to sign “at least four” multi-year contracts with leading European tanneries in 2018, as well as establishing “a commercial presence” in the US leather manufacturing market.

Xeros released these details at the time of an announcement that it will sell more than 11 million new shares in its business to investors in London with the intention of raising approximately £25 million in new funding.

On making the announcement, chief executive, Mark Nichols, said: “We have developed unique polymer technologies that substantially reduce water, chemistry and energy usage. Over the last two years we have materially progressed their application in three markets, including tanning.”
