Garment leather revival gets slowly under way in Turkey

29/11/2017
Tanners in Turkey are slowly starting to build back up their garment leather business with new orders for garment nappa and double-face beginning to come in after two years of upheaval.

After long periods of lower activity, production is slowly picking up again at specialist leather clusters such as those at Corlu-Tekirdag and Usak.

Industry commentators have said low prices for domestic sheepkskin, currently between $2 and $3 per piece, have been a key factor in the garment leather revival.
