Automotive seating supplier Adient celebrated its first anniversary as an independent company on November 1. It’s exactly a year since the spin-off of the seating company from automotive parts supplier Johnson Controls International.

Marking the occasion, executive vice-president, Byron Foster, said he “couldn’t be prouder” of Adient’s achievements in its first 12 months as an independent company. It has taken orders for the next three years for $3 billion worth of new business, expanded its business in China and moved to acquire Futuris Group, a designer and manufacturer of automotive seating and interior systems that has 15 factories in North America and Asia.
