Daimler confirms the FILK testing lab as ‘class A’
Automotive group Daimler has confirmed as ‘class A’ the testing laboratory facilities that leather institute FILK runs at Freiberg in Germany. The laboratory went through a re-audit process with Daimler earlier this year.

A ‘class A’ ranking, the highest, entitles FILK’s test laboratory to conduct tests and analysis that the automotive group regards as “the most demanding and the most important ”. It is authorised to put an extensive range of interior materials, including leather through 74 different physical, chemical and emission tests. It also has the authority to test materials for stick-slip behaviour and odour.

Dr Sascha Dietrich, head of laboratory services said: “The certificate is confirmation of our work and evidence of the high quality and reliability of our services.”
